My 1st year of art in San Diego

Last May I moved to San Diego California and I started painting with renewed enthusiasm.
I joined the San Diego Watercolor Society and submitted paintings to their monthly juried exhibitions.
I had 1 or 2 paintings accepted to 10 exhibitions (out of a possible 11), and won 4 awards:
juror’s commendation for

In The Beginning

Honorable mention for

Along the Water Line

best miniature for

Altered Reality

and 3rd place for

Waking up to Reality

In March I had 2 paintings accepted to the annual juried show of the Southwest artists association and my painting “Altered Reality” got 3rd place in the small paintings section.
In May I had several paintings(some sales) in Art in the Pines
The highlight of my achievements this year was the acceptance of

Painting Her Ride Of Hope
to the highly competitive and lucrative exhibition of the Western Federation of watercolor Societies held this spring in Las Vegas.
(my entry is in slides 135& 136)

I get a lot of encouragement and pleasure from comments/favorites/features online, here at RB (and on DeviantArt including a ‘daily deviation’) for which I am very grateful, but it was nice to have this reinforced by getting some recognition in the real world too:)
