Into the Blue

INTO THE BLUE

Field of blue before me
Flowers swayed with, and against, the wind
Feelings of sorrow, pain and despair
Flowers had stems to stuff those there

The field was a sea, I believed it to be
It turned and it waved
It was waving for me
Blue flowers fluttered, brushed
They beckoned me
Shh…
Quieter, calmer
This was what my memory would save
Shh… The hushing of waves…

Flowers, they pulled
Firmly, they tugged
Finally, frantic for my feelings
They wrapped around me
Dragged me deep into their lull

Drinking my feelings,
Or so it was seeming
Blue glowed brighter, stems longer
With greedy warmth, the pedals hugged
Drinking my feelings, growing the sea
I wondered when it was they would find
That the field of blue was vaster in me

Into the Blue
