Feature in Gallery of Pain 22/6/11
bernard, lacoque, artlacoque
This one looks positively alive, as if a very real human is peering out from behind the painted face.
It is his very first acrylic painting, before using acrylic he had the bleached ink works and before that pencil drawing. He gave it to his friend Alex who said he never got it….so we thought it was lost and as it had so much success on his original account we felt sorry. Already knowing him in hospital I found the work in his studio and brought it to him. He was happy and Alex finally got it and this part finished positive.
What a fantastic story, Ruth.
I really love this portrait!!!So many emotions …………………………
