Autumn is done, signs of winter are here!

Soon, billowing, white flakes of snow will appear….

Like small parachutes, they glide and dart to the ground-

Some shall melt; some will touch down safe and sound….

Let the sunlight be blocked by thick, dark clouds today!

Let the colors be replaced by shadowy grays….

Allow vision to be tackled by a thick, white haze….

And harsh sounds be muffled and have nothing to say….

Mother Nature orders an end to the silent phase;

She calls for northeastern wind to carry it here….

Through barren, high-reaching tree limbs- sounds a whistle-

Posting a communique’ of natural fear….

Then, a white-out occurs- hiding man-made boundaries,

Meanwhile, cleansing the air without effors or a tear….

Quietly carrying man’s pollution to the earth and the sea….

Yea, man’s fences and walls are hidden- temporarily….

As grown men stare blankly, in awe, as if to agree-

Strong force acts- which all ages can see….

And they all throw snow and laugh like children, with glee….

They shall soon face their age, but for the moment- they are Free!
