Hi. My name is Dennis Knecht. I grew up and attended school in Belleville, ILL . In high school in 1966 I painted a picture of a robot much like “R2D2”. This was well before “Star Wars” and was when robots on movies still looked like box-like creatures. When studying Art at Belleville Area College- I painted Red Alien- this was well before “E.T.” or “The Alien” came out. I was drafted in 1970 into military service and served for 8 years. During that time , I completed courses at U. of Hawaii and Monterey Peninsula College (AA Curriculum). When I got out of the service in 1978- I started to paint and draw once again. I paint realistic landscapes and seascapes. I also paint abstract art. I now reside in MA. I am also a writer of poetry, songs , and song lyrics.
