Born and raised in North Carolina, I moved to New Mexico in 1986. Upon receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, I was excited about starting a new life in a new place. I have been here ever since, raising my family, painting and enjoying the beauty of this state. I painted in oils for years, but made the change to acrylics several years ago. I love the brilliant colors, the quick-drying time and the durability of acrylics. It is a blessing to live in an area with wonderful light and beautiful subject matter all around me. We have beautiful sunsets, mountain views, hot air balloons, cactus, wildflowers, and every season brings something else wonderful.
I recently joined the RB group, His Hands Working – A Christian Missions Group. Two of my images that are pictured below are included in this group. All proceeds from these two works on RB are to be donated to the Philadelphia Mission to feed, clothe, and provide medicine and education to the starving children in Africa.
