Mobil was an American company who broke into the British market after WWII and sold their petrol under the name of Mobilgas. They had their own fleet of tankers and this Bedford S type with its stylish tank is typical complete with its white-wall tyres and a driver in uniform it made a colourful sight in the Austerity times of the late forties and early fifties. Seen here in war-torn Birmingham in the mid-fifties.
