No it’s not a painting but I thought I’d post this up because it’s from the time about ten short years ago when I drove a couple of summer seasons for Riverlink in Totnes, Devon. The bus itself is one of the small fleet which ran the Totnes-Paighton-Totnes service carrying mainly passengers on the Round Robin trip which included a rail link on the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway and a river trip on a the Dart between Totnes and Dartmouth, hence the name Riverlink!
The fleet were beautifully turned out for vehicles then over twenty years old because they spent every winter being cossetted in the garage ready for the next season and as far as I know are still in service.
I don’t remember this photo being taken but many enthusiasts shot pictures of these Bristol VRs which were by then quite rare and I have no idea who took it so hope I haven’t breached any copyright. I am the guy standing up next to the driver who has just taken over from me for the next trip to Paignton. Happy days, Riverlink were a great firm and my fellow drivers the salt of the Earth.
