The last type of A.E.C Mk III built was the “Tinfront” being an effort to update the appearance of the Mammoth Major but it was still a MKIII under the skin. The fifteen tons or so of steel bar making up the load would be enough to tax the brakes of this outfit as no brakes were fitted to the second axle. The colourful, but tasteful, livery of Andersons of Newhouse was typical of the variety to be seen in the golden age of British haulage.
