The little town of Brixham in Torbay has been, and still is , an important fishing port and was the reason for the building of the branch line was to supply the London market with freshly caught fish on a daily basis but by the 1950s competition from road transport had took most of the trade.

The charming stone built station was on a hill above the town and is seen here towards the end with a 0-4-2T simmering at the head of a short train to Churston were the Brixham line met the Kingswear branch which in turn connected with the main line at Newton Abbott.

An oil painting like this on board or canvas 20″×30″ of your favourite railway subject, British, American or even French, would cost from £2000.
