Happy Holidays Everyone…

Im sure everyone will be inundated with journals and writings this month regarding the Christmas Season so Id like to share this with you.

Thanksgiving is over (in USA) and shopping carts are filling, traffic is unbearable, and parking lots are a menace. Yet, children go on holiday for 2 weeks, dad’s work overtime to please and accommodate their childs dream Christmas gift, moms bake their little hearts out, and animals get into the wrapping paper and pull down christmas ornaments from the tree. I smell gingerbread cookies down the street and watch fathers and sons put up Christmas lights, and children run around and fall down laughing. I pass the Churches and hear choirs practice the high notes, see elders walk hand in hand along the lakes, and families piling into cars. But I walked on.

But for a moment reality sets in and we do have to remember that their are those that are less fortunate than us, who have no home, that dont know where their next meal comes from, or even a coat to keep them warm in the shadows of darkness and cold. So take the time to go through your closet and find a coat you no longer wear. Gather up some canned foods, and give up 1 blanket of yours and go down to your locate Chapter, or Salvage Army and give of these gifts. As you will be helping someone to have a better next day, another chance at the future before them.

Someone helped me in my time of need many, many years ago, I was homeless, had but a loaf of bread to my name and the clothes on my back. I never asked for help, nor looked of sorrow to get hand outs, but a man came without pressing upon me for anything, he gave me a hotel for a month, clothes to wear and hope of better days to come, within that month I changed from a lost soul to a woman with drive and ambition. So thank you again my friend Stan you’ll always be remembered by me.

It only takes one act of human kindness to change another, be that person, dont let them just walk by.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
