About Lisa Michelle Garrett

Hello my name is Lisa Michelle Garrett. My family name on my mother’s side is Garrett. My grandfather was an artist in the 1940’s. I obtain my artistic skills from him. He went to a local news paper to submit is comic strip art, he was turned away because they did not accept art submissions from Black people(Hebrews). years later he went on to submit some of his works in a few magazines for people of color. I use the family name Garrett proudly to honor my grandfathers memory.
