I am talking about a time that photographers who are least than thirty cannot know. In that time, digital photography is only an idea, photoshop is just a dream, and the magic place is called a darkroom. 36 frames in a roll, and most of them were not good enough to be worth the price of a print. No, film photography was no easy art school !
This image was made in 1991, with a Canon EOS 650, which was the first ever in the series. It had been offered to me by a “real” photographer who upgraded to the 630 (which was the second ever in the series). This image was among the first I took as I was starting photography, and since then the passion has never left me. Thank you to share with me these “great” souvenirs.

film will never die! superb comp in the square format. you just can’t digitally reproduce true grain structure. excellent work.

Perfect compositional elements. Unlike JK above, I have no lingering romanticism about film and darkrooms.. I think digital has freed us from dangerous chemicals and allowed us to be artists, as well as better photographers and it’s getting better each day.
there is so much to say bout digital versus film, I will have probably to start a blog ! anyway in both only matters the passion !
thank you mary !
