Located on a 12 acre island, the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States and is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886, designated as a National Monument in 1924 and restored for her centennial on July 4, 1986.
The green-blue coloration is caused by chemical reactions, which produced copper salts and created the current hue. Most copper statues in the outside elements, left to their own, will eventually turn this color in a process called patination.

Photography is not about cameras, gadgets and gizmos. Photography is about photographers. A camera didn’t make a great picture any more than a typewriter wrote a great novel.

Were we in a helicopter??? Or did you buy one of those ginormous enormous extender jobbies for your lens?

  • lol, no, actually, the lens is attached to the camera (28/530 film equivalent) which gives me power to get close !
but that would be the only asset of my actual camera, planning to change it ASAP !
    thank you lois !
    my best, francis.
