a/k/a artisan-market on RB. Creating art as long as I can remember, I am enamoured with strong vibrant colors and how light affects what is seen in the natural world. Currently I live in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Very involved with my community, I am secretary of our local artists group, South of the NavyYard Artists: www.sonyaonline.org And to supplement my meagre income, as an artist, I produce juried Fine Art & Independent Design venues for my neighborhood park: http://www.artisan-market.org/ and for the Greenwich Village Youth Council in Manhattan http://www.greenwichvillageyouthcouncil.com
My most recent one-person exhibition was Nov/Dec 2008 at the Greenhouse Gallery of the James Beard Foundation.
As you’ll see in my Red Bubble Portfolio, I’ve done many food related paintings, an ongoing theme first started when my graphic-designer husband and I had a studio overlooking Union Square in Manhattan, the first location of the now very popular and with many city-wide locations: NYC GreenMarket (farmers markets).
