Highclere Castle, Hampshire England UK. This was the location for the UK Tv series Downton Abbey. The home of Lord and Lady Carnarvon. Panasonic Lumix FZ38
This image is very lovely in it’s openness, clarity, and what a great sky to go along with such a beautiful architectural structure!! Congratulations on your feature!
Oh How great!! Thank you Stephanie. I saw the complete series of Downton Abbey on TV, a costume drama and I was lucky enough to pay a visit to this beautiful Highclere Castle where the series was shot. It was quite peculiar to recognise the interior of the house and the furniture. We had tea and cakes in a marquee in the garden!! Priceless. Many, Many thanks, Lynda
Thank you so much Pamela!! I was standing just in front of the Folly when I took this. It turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon after lots of rain earlier.
Wow what a home it is, so beautiful! Beautiful capture too!
Hi Swaby!! Yes, its great isn’t it. A previous Lord Carnarvon, together with Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamuns burial Chamber. There were replicas of the coffin and throne etc in the cellar, converted into a museum. Spooky Cheers Lynda
