Ode to Jeffery Smart!

Jeffery Smart is a fantastic AUSTRALIAN Artist. His work often displays the things found in the everyday, roads, buildings, containers.
This is a collection of Aviation Gas Drums lined up and stacked up, along the side of a shed in Whitecliffs.
The time was just after sunrise, a bit cool but great light up at the top of the dug out hotel we were staying at. I found some great objects, old cars, broken glass, rocks and of course the sunrise over the landscape of outback Australia.

Awesome Lesley, great shot. I love the picture by Jeffrey Smart in the Fairfax Studio (in the Victorian Art centre), with the missing container on the back of the train specifically placed behind the pole that masks it’s view from the landing.
You caught these barrells very well with just the right lighting. Good job.

Lesley,I really like this. I love to come across stuff like this. I think it makes the most unique photos. My husband just thinks it is “junk”, but he is not a photographer and does not see the art.Congratulations on the sale. G’day Lesley,

What a great find and it looks very good under a black matt too!!!!!
The subject is unusual and very interesting and your composition with the placement of the yellow drum is spot on.
A perfect exposure in that great light and a very good focus has rendered a very clear, clean, crisp image with lots of detail and wonderful colour.
Print this one BIG and don’t forget that lack matt!
