I worked on this today. It started out as an experiment using crayon wax…a nice alternative to beeswax, just not as transparent. I am in the process of completing an altered book i began last year foe an exhibit in one of our Public Lbrary’s bookcase display. I share the space with an artist friend of mine. We thought this would be a good venue for people to see outr Altered Books.

Utilizing library display space is a wonderful venue for art! Please post us a photo of the exhibit when it is ready. I’ve used beeswax for several small projects, but not melted crayon. By the looks of your image, you were able to achieve nice warm tones with the crayon.

Thanks, we are going to be moving the exhibit at the end of the month…I’ll take a pic then. It may be a bit difficult because it is behind glass. Anyone have camera know how here…how would i avoid the reflections and glare?
