A friend of mine is full blooded Indian, born of the Grizzle spirit. For his Birthday a couple years back, his wife commissioned me to do a Grizzle for his birthday present.
I have another friend that goes to Alaska every summer to visit his brother. He had given me a DVD of his trip earlier. On this trip along one of the rivers that was full of Salmon a group of Grizzles were have a good old feed. Now Robert stopping to take video’s disturbed this huge male. It splashed the water tried to get across the raging river with no success. This angered him even more. Getting this God awful long loud growl that raised the back nap of you hair, and sent a chill up your spine, Robert kept on filming, he zoomed his camera directly in the mouth of that old male.
Using 190 weight cold press paper for the fur illusion, I went to work with minerals, Limonite, ochre to burnt umber, Carbon Coal, and Gypsum Crystals to present this illusion you see before you.

Navy man for eight years and a now retired electronic Eng. I turned to my passion of love of reproduction using natural materials, creating my own pigment colors to create works using all natural tools to enrich the art. Enjoy

Incredible emotion you are so fortunate to be able to create!..beautiful work…Dennis
  • Thanks Ducilla, with each mineral I do I grow more in tuned with the crystals within the minerals. I get so turned on by this music that it is hard to stand still. My Partner come in when I hoot and holler after riding on a mineral high. David
