Mevagissey, Cornwall by artbyrachel

Another favourite Cornish coastal village. I painted this in the summer (in the rain!!) hence the rather interesting speckled effect from the raindrops! So much for summer!!

Now this coastal scene is very different than where I live. It’s flat as a pancake around here. Very beautiful and very well done.

Thank you. I don’t often get the chance to paint “on the spot” so this was a rare opportunity. It brings back lovely memories of a great holiday in spite of the dire weather!

I love this and it reminds me of an advert on English television, years ago for Cadbury’s Flake. There was a young woman painting a watercolour and eating a chocolate stick and it started to rain. At first she looked worried and then as the rain ran down the painting she looked from all angles and decided she liked it!!

  • Hmmm! As i remember the ad she was not all wrapped up in a waterproof jacket and freezing cold!Sadly I was!!
