I enjoy working in Watercolour & black ink line as this suits my passion for detail and colour and gives a looser, fresher style to my work. I use only quality art materials, Winsor & Newton Artists Watercolour, water and light resistant black ink, and Bockingford (NOT) 300gsm and The Langton HP Extra Smooth 300gsm Watercolour paper for their brighter colours and pleasing results.
I also work with Oils and find their blending qualities very pleasing when working on animal portrait paintings to give a more sensitive and realistic result. I also use oils when I want to create more decorative pieces that require stronger and brighter colour, particualrly plants and flowers.
Most of my work is inspired from Britain’s most well loved places and its wildlife. Scenes that are historic, beautiful and characteristic of Great Britain. If there’s a special place or subject that you would like to own as an original painting, please contact me and I’ll be happy to quote you for a commissioned piece.
Having always loved drawing as a child and growing up, as soon as I left school I went to Walsall College of Art and Design where I achieved a National Diploma and then to Leicester Polytechnic (De Montfort University as it is now known) achieving a Ba(Hons) degree in Graphic Design in 1991. I have been indulging my passion for art ever since!
