An ice blue moon
Falls from the sky
Soon to commune
With mountains high
Sun rises now
Moon to replace
As if somehow
They won’t share space
Old weathered barn
Bears witness to
The stellar yarn
Between these two
This digital painting was inspired while looking out my window at the descending full moon early in the morning. It brought to mind the optical illusion of how the moon always looks bigger when it is low in the sky. I love how the moon takes on the blue hues of the atmosphere when you see it in the early morning light.
