Here we are at Dad’s 75th birthday gathering back in 2007. Back row: my wife, Holly and I. Middle row: from left to right… my sisters, Robin, Debbie, and Kim. Dad, is of course, front row.
Dad recently passed with lung cancer at age 80.
Kim and Dad succumbed to their fight against cancer. Of both, I had the privilege of officiating their funerals. Over the past 18 years I’ve had the honor of officiating this kind of a family thing. They weren’t easy. They are not suppose to be. I guess my God-given ability to compartmentalize has allowed me to get through each passing stage, the passing, funeral, and post funeral moving-on activities and emotions. Without the Lord this kind of family thing wouldn’t be possible. (posted 11.18.12)
My wife, Holly and sister, Debbie are both cancer survivors.
