Here is a family picture handed down to me from my dad. This picture is of my Grandma Bea’s family… dated 1900. This hard back photo was taken 9 years before she was born. The picture shows my great grandparents (holding Bea’s two sisters), my great, great, grandmother (in the back) and Bea’s two aunts, one on the far right and other on the far left. These two girls are Bea’s father’s sisters.

In her late years, Grandma Bea lived with us in Kingston, Tennessee, USA, until her passing in 1994. She passed 7 days before her 85th birthday. I had the honor of conducting the funeral.

… photo taken in Georgia, 1900, photographer is unknown.
… photo color is original, very little editing was done before uploading to RB.

POSTER

As an artist I enjoy painting and photographing segments of rural life. Country living became a new world for me back in the sixties when we moved from Chicago, Illinois to East Tennessee. I want to capture what I now see before country living vanishes… at least in my area!

great photo Bob, It’s really good to be able to look back on ones family !

  • That’s right George! In addition to these old photos, I have a cousin who just completed an ancestral research on our family. I’ve not seen it yet, but hear tell we Halls are from Wales, close to your neck of the woods, neighbor, lol! Thanks buddy, much appreciated!!!

What are you doing to preserve this wonderful antque Bob? Love the effort they made to improve the background of the shot.

  • Thanks Jim… not have given preservation much of a thought yet. My dad gave me several old photos (not all this old, however). Hopefully soon, I’ll upload a photo of my great-grandparents on my grandfather’s side. That photo maybe older than this one. Thanks Jim, much appreciated!!!
