Farmer's Version of the Red Roof Inn by

To others, this is just another barn. To the farmer, this building provides housing accommodations for Buck, Betsy and the family. The photo is a series of country scenes I took along the Highway 58 stretch between Kingston, Tennessee, U.S.A., and the Spring City, Tennessee area.

As an artist I enjoy painting and photographing segments of rural life. Country living became a new world for me back in the sixties when we moved from Chicago, Illinois to East Tennessee. I want to capture what I now see before country living vanishes… at least in my area!

    Excellent capture !!! :D

  • Thanks Evita. Along Highway 58, I took photos from a set position and some from on the fly. This pic happened to be one of the better ones taken on the fly – about 45 miles per hour, hanging out the window of my car as Holly, my wife drove. Many shots were wasted, but if I can get a couple of good ones, the effort was worth it.
