This charming old country home illustrates how houses were built back-in-the-day. I took this capture on our Highway 11E W photo excursion here in East Tennessee, between Knox and Granger Counties.

As an artist I enjoy painting and photographing segments of rural life. Country living became a new world for me back in the sixties when we moved from Chicago, Illinois to East Tennessee. I want to capture what I now see before country living vanishes… at least in my area!

Hi Bob – Such a nice shot of this old beauty. I was Virginia born and raised (though living in So. CA now… which I can’t wait to get out of!!!) and am very familiar which such old architecture and the appreciation there of. Again, this is excellent photography of a most interesting and special part of history, the rural life, and the beauty of days-gone-by.

    Rog

  • Hi Roger, pleasure to meet you. Thanks for such a kind and personalized reply. Architecture like this is of days- gone-by. It seems as if most new homes these days are of the “cookie cutter” architecture. If that’s what you call architecture. Thanks buddy, most appreicated!!!

I just love the look of old houses like this,…..And you never know,….One strong wind,..and then their gone.
    Superb capture.

  • Yeah, John. Just think, all that sweat & blood, laboring under a hot sun all day with heavy lumber to build that house… gone in one breathe of God. Wears me out just thinking about it. Thanks buddy, much appreciated!!!
