I’ve had the opportunity over the years to see at close range famous cars from TV shows and stars. Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has a location, Hollywood Star Cars Museum, which houses such vehicles. This Mayberry, NC, sheriff’s car that Andy and Barney drove in the Andy Griffith Show was at the 2012 Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee, pretty cool! … don’t know if this is a replica or the real McCoy. From what I see… could be either.

Make and Model: The Andy Griffith Show used three Fords throughout the sitcom. This one is a ’65 Ford Galaxy. The other two used for the sitcom were 1962 and 1963 Ford Galaxys.

As an artist I enjoy painting and photographing segments of rural life. Country living became a new world for me back in the sixties when we moved from Chicago, Illinois to East Tennessee. I want to capture what I now see before country living vanishes… at least in my area!

    Great stuff Bob !!
We have a Cars of the Stars museum over this side of the pond, but they charge a fee for taking photos !
They often take them on tour around the country,

  • Thanks George! At the one in Gatlinburg, I took a number of photos but with one of those cheap cameras that don’t work in dim lighted conditions… much to my surprise as I saw the results after film development. The same here about touring. Thanks buddy, very much appreciate another kind visit!!!
