The dog’s racing name is Smoke Ring and foster name Ripley. He did find a forever home.

I am so glad to hear that, akiko…planning to adopt a dog myself but likely not this breed. you did him justice, though, such a beautiful and graceful animal.

This image touched my heart, Akiko. I advocate for the welfare of ex-racers and their adoption. I shared my life with two majestic Gazelle Hounds (aka Salukis, kin to the Greyhound) and knew from very close the delicate and kind temperament of these gentle giants.
Ripley’s facial expressiveness is truly moving. Wishing him a much deserved life full of comfort and love.

Thank you Carmen. I have painted a number of greyhound dogs to help them find forever homes. Those that end up in these shelters are the lucky ones. I hope to see one day dog racing banned for good in all nations.
