I’ve just shot a Macro of a stack of coffee beans in low-light at F4.0.
The shot is completely in focus. Every single bean.
How did I do this? I found a tutorial on Focus Stacking. I could explain it to you but Its probably better to let this expert tell you.
Try it – you will be amazed
“UPDATE” to avoid any further questions :D
Focus stacking is really an alternative to reducing the aperture size. Remember though that lenses work much better in the mid-range of aperture sizes. After around F13 the overall image will lose sharpness. This technique allows you a max DOF while maintaining max possible sharpness.
There…done

Its sounds good Alan, thanks for sharing. However is it really necessary to focus stack when you can reduce the aperture size? Wouldn’t that make a less Depth of Field and consequently less bokeh?

Good information. We’ve just begun a *Tutorials Library*, alphabetized by category into forums. We’d like to persuade you to post a link to your tutorial under the appropriate category, or advise us to do so. That way you still receive the views and comments, but new people might find your information more readily.
Hope you’ll consider this.
