The Fish Quay
I took this with my 8.2MP digital compact camera while fishing yesterday.
I took four shots to capture the stunning sky.
I processed the image in CS3 and used the shadow/highlight adjustment to lighten the foreground. I enhanced the hue/saturation in the sky then used a colour balance layer to add a bit of pop to the image.

Thanks Mel. I thought it essential to avoid the silhouetted foreground in this case. Glad you like it

what makes you know what is right not to have a silhouette? i really do like and you are very welcome
Alan Rodmell replied
Its really a personal preference Mel. I thought that the foreground had some features (reflections in the car windows and the angles of those rocks) that would be of benefit to the shot so I enhanced them to make them noticeable.
When you work with an image you dont have to stick to the conventional rules. They are merely guidelines and some great pieces result from experimentation
