Easier and more comfortable than real honest goodness,
Inoffensive Mediocrity is the enemy of Truth (that unconventional and inconvenient ‘troublemaker’).
I think the bane and shame of Christianity is well-meaning people trying to be ‘Nicer’ than God and ‘More Polite’ than Jesus.
Divine truth is not bland. It cuts like a knife to the heart, exposing hypocrisy. This is not comfortable, short term; but surely only Truth can offer us any comfort in the long-term.
