Araneus diadematus female (garden orb-weaver spider) by armadillozenith
This pretty lady was on the stonework right beside my front door when I returned home.
Hers is the species named and featured in Hergé’s Tintin adventure, The Shooting Star.
This was a day of encountering (and photographing) spiders; I’d already met a Tegenaria species male, and two other Araneus diadematus, one female and one male.
