Patient Nature bears our follies
(Frozen pool of shopping trollies)
Patient Nature takes it all
Embracing exiles from the mall
Patient Nature, calm, unhurried
Where impatient vandals scurried
Patient Nature without haste
Absorbs reckless consumer waste
Patient Nature will we trust
Return our processed ore to rust
Patient Nature covers whitely
Things we disregard so lightly..
Morning, Saturday 19th December 2010.
Behind bus stop on Halbeath Drive, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland (opposite Carnegie College, facing retail park).
Aptly perhaps, I saw this on my way to a meeting with UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown on his return from Copenhagen’s COP15 Conference.. negotiating humanity’s responsibility to steward the environment.. a global climate laden with the impact of our industry and commerce and waste.
