housefly (Musca domestica), on jug in garden

armadillozenith

Dunfermline, United Kingdom

Artist's Description

Usually they are unwanted as visitors, especially on our clean white table china! But flies too are a part of nature, with a role to play.
I was pleased to capture both the iridescence and the shadow of the fly’s veined wing.
What a bristly body it has!
In my parents’ garden, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. The last days of August, 2009.
