Matt and Pippa (brother and sister) had driven up from England to stay a week with my wife and I.
Here we three were on the balcony of Adam’s tree-house overlooking Craigencalt Farm and Kinghorn Loch on a sunny May day, welcomed as guests by a good friend Luke who was living there while Adam was away travelling.
A fine day for tea and biscuits and guitar-strumming and songs!
I’d just held the camera out at arm’s length pointing back at us, so the composition here was serendipitous, a happy accident..
For example, I hadn’t realized there’d be that strong diagonal line made by the edges of roof and decking; nor that my face would be seen like that, right in the corner, shadowed by my cap into self-effacing (?!) obscurity.. but I like it!
Plus my cousins Matt’s and Pippa’s knees seeming just to touch, and Matt’s hand, by chance alignment, seems to be touching the more distant water-butt and flagline.
A lot of what I do is happy accidents.. I tend to hope for those and be open to them!
And since they’re invited and welcomed, they keep happening..
