Roadmap To Loserville

There’s lines on your face, cracking at the dawn’s early light
No laugh wrinkles, just dusty gouged out trails of badness
Marking time of a life not lived, wasted like last night’s bottle
Pity to see how the young grow old, losing their grip on things
It’s a shame to think that before the drink you were a child too
So he sits across the room, hoping to get by without a bruise
Staring at your face in the sunlight, but glooming in his brain
It’s so sad that he knows how he’s gonna grow up to be soon
Just like you, on the way to nowhere, no hope, no love at all
He’ll be just like you, can’t dodge his fate, it’s too late for him

Those lines are getting clearer, showing off the map of fate
Roads leading down, leading in, trapping him in their web
Loserville ahead, can’t you wait? Take you another pull of gin
It’s all there is for a boy raised by such an outstanding man
There’ll be bad grades, fights in school, suspensions galore
Leads to pot, getting caught with her pants down, off to juvie
Hard to believe looking at his innocent smile, but he’s dead
It’s so sad that he knows how he’s gonna grow up to be soon
Just like you, on the way to nowhere, no hope, no love at all
If he don’t dodge his fate, do you think it’s too late for him?

Roadmap To Loserville by

Just wrote this, because I accidentally typed in the name for the title of a painting into the name for the title of a written work, and then I had to write something to go with it.

Inspiration? Lots of drunken, stupid people and their children.
