I was born in Ireland and lucky enough to have a mother who was not afraid to pack up her 5 kids and take them on camping adventures to see the world. My eyes were opened to what life is really about and every new place and scene was so different I had to capture everything to hold it in my memory for a life time. As a child I did this through writing diaries and collecting postcards. When I received the precious gift of my first camera I discovered I had a time machine.
For me that is what photography is all about capturing a second in time that will never be repeated and holding it in its perfection forever. An exact second that you can return to at any time.
I do not credit myself for these images but I thank life for sharing with me and my photo lens for capturing it for me. We live in a very commercial world and I have often forgotten what it is that actually makes us happy and this is life’s beauty and it is priceless. I have spent years taking photos and enjoying moments alone looking back on them, reliving, recapturing and immersing myself in the peace and stillness for a moment in time before I return to the hustle and bustle of life. With more time on my hands, and the added stresses and worries of the times we live in, I have come to realise these precious moments in time, that nature gave to us should be shared and I hope they make your soul smile as they have for me and give you that peaceful stillness for a moment to remember we live in a beautiful world.
