Thanks! They’re called Galahs (pronounced ga-LAR) and they are very common here. Sometimes you see hundreds of them together. There were 16 of them in my garden last night! I think they are a type of cockatoo. We get white cockatoos and black cockatoos too, but they are much more shy than galahs. The one on the left is the female (you can tell by the orange iris) and the one on the right is the male (dark brown iris). I think the female won.

This is a terrific shot, Arkle. And yes, they are Galahs (or Roseate Cockatoos … or just Silly Bloody Galahs). Had one on my finger once, when rescuing it from a creek. Didn’t draw blood, but by heck, it was a good strong bite!
