Coming Down from Pills and Clubbing

Its been years
Since my fingers
Like seduction
Slid eager over this unfamiliar keyboard

Teasing the moments
Netting words
Ready, aim, fire

Margaret Olley had the secret
Passed away the day after making the final touches to her last exhibition
A glorious lifelong installation
Still, mystic and optimistic life

The ache from eating too many strawberries passes
Like the come down from pills and clubbing
Like lost worlds
Like childhood

Nervously
I pick at caressing the edges of letters
Wondering when my next fix will be
And arriving moist at the junction of eternal possibilities

good to release the words again (4 u)…
good to splash the paint again (4 me)…
more to life than pills and clubbing
more to life than working for a dollar
I’ve started drawing again, for the pure pleasure of seeing with my fingers
looking fwd to sharing creative endeavours

Great title… took me ages to find this btw. The new layout is like getting stuck in a lab-rat maze. So many possibilities. What a massive hang-over, lol, nice to see you posting again Mr Knapman
