Send for the Prince
That I might tell him
That I have no need
Of ships
Laden with gold thread
Nor plush ebony silks
Draped now
Over his smooth
Moonlit
Nubile body
Tell him
That I am greater than his
Ruby moist lips
Parting for my pleasure,
Greater than the emerald
In the deep oceans of his
Jewelled eyes
Greater than his turrets
His drawbridges
His pedestals and thrones
His kingdom
Tell him
That like a forest tree seed
Scattered and falling,
Riding
On soft lashed wings
Strident in its assertions
To home
That I am marked
By love
And further
That love
Has me marked
Has me tattooed
Butt naked and thirsty
For life
Tattooed
A writen piece for a challenge in the Gay Sexuality group. This written work goes with Gordon Merrick Justice’s image which was inspired by it. The next stage in this group’s challenge is for me to create a visual piece to go with some of his writing.

this is so remarkable, so astonishingly good it leaves me quite speechless. There is the most exquisite rhythm here to accompany these romantic, evocative and sensual images, it carries one just as if one is riding the wave of love itself. Exquisitely beautiful and passionate poem.

Thankyou lianne. I’m really honoured by your comment and that you’ve enjoyed this so much. That is one hellofa fine compliment. Thankyou. Sometime writing poetry hurts as much, or is as liberating as the feelings / emotions behind it (whether its joyous, sad or otherwise). Love it .)

I totally agree with you Robert – now I’m going to follow this challenge and see where it led since I love Merrick’s writing as well!
