It Took His Time

It took his time
Sucking on moments
Swallowing like hunger
Spitting out the pips

The pulse of that thing
The monstrosity
Ice in a furnace

In the thick of it
His brown eyes
Wet
Still remembered gardens
Crab apple blossum

And the every-day courage to wink kindly
In tornados at strangers

oh I like him so much,
I’ve just arrived back after a walk and I was very distressed that most of the people I passed and either smiled at or said hello, just ignored me. Perhaps it is the Melbourne grey and wet weather.

I love the visuals and scents you’ve captured x

  • Hi Lisa, thanks. Im in Melbourne for a few days and heading out now. I might test a wink or two lol x

Your lines: “And the every-day courage to wink kindly
In tornados at strangers” are everything – turbulent and peaceful.

  • Hi Pete. Thanks and thanks for leaving your comments and traces :)
