Bite me on the Bum

I’ve come home
To roost
Like foul do
At the collapsed end of the day

The full-tanked, scratching out a living in hay day

My perch
Smells of me
Tastes like
Chaos and sheets, books and unfinished business
Feels like…belonging

Family, past lovers, trodden routes, and naked warm storms belonging

My other perch
In that sailor’s port
That plucked, puckered and tattooed under belly
Rising to bite me on the bum
Still swings and squawks

While the wing-clipped feathers
I think
Are silently settling

Bite me on the Bum
