Stripped, Bear Chested and Naked

There’s a red mark on the sleeve of the shirt
He wears
Fading in

Sometimes it seems
The shirt itself trails red
Chequered, floral, paisley

Congealing
For the…trackers

The heart shaped mark
He wears on the sleeve
Of his shirt
Pulses

Head full of blood
Discarding and bear chested
He hails
The next long distance saved ticket bus
…following

Stripped and utterly
Naked

Congealing for the trackers…..that line I saw the heart having to close up shop for those that may want to track him down that have no understanding of eloquence of someone who can speak from the heart and stand naked with his heart on his sleeve….
A really beautiful write about a poet who does expose the undercurrent of himself and life in a way that is so vulnerable and penetrating into deeper aspects of all of us …..if we dare to look.
    Really stunning writing…..XX

  • Thankyou Arcadia. Love your insights and comments…always…somehow humbling xx

you know, there is so much in this I had to read it three times. First, because of the saying of those who wear there hearts on their sleeves, secondly, I was wondering about the red marks, the shirt itself taking on the life of the person, or the heart of the person, as the poem progresses, it seems there is a shedding, naked could be exposing oneself, but it seems the person is on the run.. from what, or To something… I guess everyone has different interpretations, but that is what I saw or sensed when I read this piece. Actually the first couple of lines just bowled me over actually.
