To go with Gordon Merrick Justice’s poem We, the Monolith of Ages which was written for the Gay Themed Art and Writing group collaboration. You can find it here
If I were light of heart at least, I’d find a way to slay the beast
The beast of life not fit to live, the monster pride was born to give.
Yet often along this rocky climb, I’ve found humans flawed, yet so divine
Indeed these seem not to want to kill, the love and passion I would instill
So though I am not yet an adult, I will still act as though I know
The right and the righteous ways to find the beautiful, willing and thus divine
Among these sorrows, large and small are triumphs who redeem us all
And so hold your ground, whoever, whether man or mice
Black, Latino, gay or white as ice for color matters not in this
This battle of the ambrosial wish, this small rebellion, this honored drive
To allow the color to survive
Within all people, good, bad or lost
To heal all sorrow worth the cost
Of losing part of who we are
To give them new life
Is better by far.

I love it. The darkness and figures create and altered state of reality that mystifies the mind! As I said… Love it! :D
