This is a darker version of an image I like and that has been uploaded to RB in the past. Taken in an Adelaide cafe on Rundle Street East.

I Left You

i left you
when you were high and dry
i didn’t offer my hand
or heart
just a crimson version of another time
tipsy with lust

i remember a wind
and a strange smokey sensation
like just before a bushfire
which swept over your brittle pains

the suitcase was open this morning
just for the memory
your letter
that fallen letter
there were cracks
spilled its tumbling self
upon my lap

I stood then
disintegrating the cradle
and once and for all
forgetting you

Agree with missalyshachristine … I like this darker version better. Feels grittier, deeper, more powerful, yet also vulnerable, torn and confused. Yes he is strong, but maybe only on the surface?
