Thanks MB – I agree. This is the final shot in the Mardi Gras group. Thought i’d finish on this for its drama and directness. Appreciate it won’t be to everyones taste. Cheers

Proud and at the ready; particularly like the stain. They’d make a great Aussie Mount Rushmore. Iconic.

yep like the shot but i really are probably just a shallow minded homophobic dude cause i do find it offensive and extremely weird but each to there own

Thanks Banditart for taking the time to comment. A shot that triggers reaction is good :) You may be right about being shallow minded and homophobic – I don’t know, but and I do appreciate it may be offensive to some people, although I admit its hard to know what different people are offended by since offense is pretty subjective – and as you say ‘each to their own’. Maybe some of my other shots you don’t find offensive? Cheers.

aaaahhh, hehe, this photo makes brings a smile to my face for two reasons

    1. that’s one heck of a nose ring that the guy on the right has! i was thinking of getting my septum pierced when i was 18, but i was afraid id scare people at job interviews and whatnot, so i got my nipples pierced instead

    2. again with the guy on the right side – that’s what i dressed up as for halloween back in 2003

never in a million years would i have thought a Mardi Gras photo would speak to me like this! i love it… in a very odd way

I read some of the responses and this is what I came up with. If Richard Avedon had shot this no one would blink an eye. I lived in San Francisco for years and not once did someone try to convert me to the other team. Diversity is what makes this world a fascinating place. Sorry rambling on here. Cool shot.

Thanks Doctor and Von. Yes Von – agree whole heartedly, yet the tangential and other comments mean its had impact and that’s ok with me .)
