Looking Out

Looking Out

This shot was taken through a frosted glass window from a street in Stanmore, Sydney. The light was just right on the best sunny winter day so far this year. I decided to leave the spots of dirt, paint and splotches – makes for a more rustic look too, which I like.

This looks as a painting yes, but old painting from netherlands in the oldies, with these unusual marriage of darl colours and some little light.
Beautiful work and idea ! don’t give up :)

Cool shot, and the glass does make it look like a painting. The light on the cactus pots makes it feel nice and warm.

Painting with the camera again I see with fantastic use of chiroscuro. Love the title it makes me relate to the cactus trappped indoors getting some much needed sunlight. I think that’s how I’ve been feeling lately too! Hopefully I’m not as prickly!

great image – and great eye for seeing this – the refraction of light and colour make it so painterly – which is what I love about it!

Thanks everyone. I agree, the glass really makes it work well. This is really one of my faves. I reakon it looks great blown up – picks up all the little details, smudges and streaks in the glass too. Cheers :)
