Hi, thanks for dropping in and commenting. If anyone out there has some Photoshop passion and skills, I’d love to see what could happen if some ‘magic’ was mixed in here – marijkasworld highlighted how magical it was and i’ve looking at it quite differently since :) Cheers.

That poor piano. How could anyone let such a beautiful instrument go to such ruin? Still a beautiful shot. Well Done

Thankyou Neale. Yep a real crime eh?
Julie Marks
This is an extraordinary piece. Viewing the piano as a conduit to express your interpretation of the soul is a brilliant concept. The image of the hand touching the keys is a beautiful metaphor. The aging piano enhances the symbol of an old soul that still is very much alive paired with delicate and sensitive hands. Fantastic photograph with great depth of meaning.
Robert Knapman replied
Thanks for such a wonderful commment and insight into ‘Soul’. I love the way you have seen / felt this. I’ll have a look at the group you mentioned too. Thanks .)

I want to call this “Poema”. (That’s just me.) I think this is how the grace of God works. God plays His music through us, and broken instruments are all he chooses to work through, as a rule. We are his art, his workmanship.
Once I had an upright piano salvaged from a basement with all the accumulation of brokenness and ugliness that a basement piano can bring. Keys were sometimes broken and notes out of tune, and the appearance was bad. A friend came over, a recently retired conductor of a New York opera company. He sat down and played it, and damn, it sounded good. Who would have known?
Robert Knapman replied
Thankyou Bruce. Beautifully put .)
Trish O'Brien
