This is Not a Love Song

An image of a man, possibly me but not me, possibly in real time and possibly not, certainly human but then again…

Like has been said already- perfect title. But also, such an emotional piece which resonates with me. It asks so many questions.

Wonderful portrait Robert, it feels like ‘wisdom’ to me, like being part of the landscape. Certainly human but then again…
An intense look, but there’s humour not far away :)

Thanks all. Marie yes bandit works really well for me here too.
Jo great that you dropped in – your melbourne mob gave me just the right incentive and inspiration to upload it. It’s not pretty, not beautiful and so may have an alternative appeal. Yet I like what it does for my soul and I hope it gets blood moving in others…Cheers.

Oh ‘allo D. Missed you there…yes I can see there may be a certain profound connection with the surroundings. Its in La Peruse – a part of Sydney with strong indigenous spirit. You see humour ahhh i’ll be having another look now. Thanks Damian.

I agree with Jo, this image is really delving.

I love it, and as with everyone else, the title is spectacular!

Cheers Charlottte, Paul and Jo – again ;) I’m wrapped you like it. The process was driven by seeking to reveal, expose or offer the innards of the image / the human / the person – as if a ‘pretty’ surface is just as much a surface as any other surface. It’s the power of the person that I like finding. Thanks

    Great portrait, Robert.

I must say your work has been both prolific and of high quality of late. Is the title taken from the old ‘Public Image’ song ? John Lydon (aka Johhny Rotten) on vocals.. Nice one.

I really like this one, and the black n white.

If we’re thinking in terms of who’ll buy it, maybe not.

If we’re thinking, show stuff to show how good at photography-yes (this is v good!)

this’d be great for a sponsered exhibition!
