An Angel's Work

An Angel's Work

Touch Me

This is a journey
Of an angel’s touch
The kind that blurs visions
Drapes in thick crushed velvet
Leads to the brink
Of the terror of surrender
And leaves one fledgeling weak
And shuddering

This is a journey
Where
Souls in their warrior’s sleep
Find places where men wash wounded men
And welcome hands
Of filtered light
Settle warm on dark, soft skin

This is a journey
Of a love
Leaving traces of white gold light
Dew fresh
Hovering delicately
At the fingers of a land mine
Priveledged in sharing its intimacy
With guiding angles
And their eternal courageous god

I’d say perfection but is there such a thing….wonderful minimalist image…yet I guess not really minimal with all the gorgeous folds of the sheet across the warmth of a body….hinted at….. but only realised by a delicate hand basking in soft light.

Yep you could say, I love this….

  • Robert Knapman replied

Beautiful comment Lisa. Thankyou ,) I’d love to write a poem for this…and maybe I’ll do just that. Glad you love it…

I think this qualifies as a tableaux!
    Beautiful, languid, mysterious, sensual.
I’ve been wanting to use the word tableaux for such a long time!
    Thanks for the art, Robert!

  • Robert Knapman replied

Cheers Oliver. Its a very cool word. I’ve just loked it up. I’ll be trying to use it now too. Love adding new words to my pallet. Languid is also very nice. Thanks Oliver ,)

i love the hints within this image. Waking alone? waiting for someone? missing someone? Fantastic. This does look familiar – something I saw in an exhibition you did for Feast?- is this an old piece reworked? It is well thought out

  • Robert Knapman replied

Yep thats what I love about it too Paul. Stories within stories. And yep its a little reworked. Well spotted :) And you found the owner of the hand in that other piece ‘Falling’. Thanks.

Those sheets are just begging to be stained Robert… ;-)

That bed sure beats my grimy mattress… No offense intended.

A beautifully, clean, light, soft shot. I love the relaxed way the hand is draped across the linen as well.

    Cheers Jennifer

    the other one I love…..
A picture has to tell a story…... and that one does..
It did before when you posted once, last year…
It stills bring me in heavens :)

  • Robert Knapman replied

Thanks Marie. I decided to add a poem to this one and also I wasn’t completely happy with the other image somehow. Nothing like visiting something again ;)

I should have said about the poem…. :)
As you know, I have to read it few times… and both, photo and poem make some musical feelings, really pleasurable.
Must add, that the photo looks more like a painting now.. as in a cathedral..
    xx
